I remember the shock and sadness when he was killed.  He might have been the first in our class to die.  I'll always remember double dating with him--and how much fun he was.

What a nice and good-looking guy who was taken from us way too soon.

Billy was my escort for the homecoming court our senior year. Great memories!

I remember Billy well.  I went to a dance with him in the 10th grade.  What a special young man he was.  He actually came to see me while I was living in Charlotte, not too long after that visit, I was shocked when I heard he was killed.  Could hardly believe it.  We lost a great guy way too soon.

Clarkson was a great person to be around. I was in Vietnam when Bill White wrote and told me about his passing. The world would have been a better place with Billy around! His MG took us to alot of track meets. I couldn't believe all the people that got in.

Billy you are missed and to you . I glad that you stopped by so I could get to meet you!

Billy was my highschool boyfriend. We really cared for each other. Billy treated me with such respect , kindness and with love. The perfect boyfriend. We had a true romance and I have many happy memories being with him-- and lots of fun.  I remember that I was in Atlanta when i received  the shocking news of his untimely death ,coming home from Clemson.  I remember his funeral, attended by so many of his friends( me sitting with Esther and Nancy). He had a wonderful loving family, and I especially remember his mother and his sister with fondness. He was a very good looking young man, and thinking of him now brings a smile to me.

I grew up with Billy, one of my best friends, along with his wonderful family. We were in Scouts

together and all the activities young people get into. On two occasions Billy came by my house say on a Friday evening and say, 'hop in, let's go to the beach'. Both times I'd say give me 30 mts. and he'd" say gotta go now" and off he went. On the weird side, up until several years ago, I would dream about Billy once a year. He was always living somewhere far off and I would run into him and ask him where have you've been, he never would tell me, but he was always happy and working on some thing he was interested in-learning about something. I told his Mom, Ginny, about this a few yrs back and she wanted to hear about it all-weird but true. His Mom said she was very happy to know Billy was 'comfortable' with the girls, since he left us so soon, Billy did not miss out on much. Got lots of stories on Billy. He burned 'his' candle at both ends.
