Rock Hill, SC – Raymond Travis Thompson, 75, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023, at his home.

Rusty was born on May 1, 1948, to the late Weldington Augustus Thompson and Bonnie Lee Hill Thompson, in Hartsville, SC.  He worked for Inland Container Corporation as a truck driver for over 40 years and was a member of the Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Faye Shoemake Thomspon of Rock Hill, SC; his daughter, Angela Smith (Blake) of Catawba, SC; his grandchildren, Skylar Craig (Justin) and Conner Smith of Catawba, SC; his great-granddaughter, Emily Craig of Catawba, SC; his brother, Randy Thompson (Sara) of Rock Hill, SC; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Tommy Jamieson, Larry Thompson (Linda), Tony Thompson (Cindy), and Monty Thompson (Gail).

A funeral service will be held for Mr. Raymond Thompson on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 3:00PM at Friendship United Methodist Church, 1200 Neely Store Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29730.  The family will receive friends and visitors at the church beginning at 2:00 PM on Monday.  Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
