CHARLOTTE – The Heavens gained its brightest star with the accompaniment of Linda Jane Burleson, Tuesday, August 22nd as she departed us from the Levine & Dickson Hospice House of Charlotte. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Ron Hinds and step-father, Orean Keels. She was preceded in passing by her father, Henry Burleson; mother, Edna Keels; and brother, Freddie Burleson.
Born in Spruce Pine, NC, Linda grew up in Rock Hill, SC. After graduating from Rock Hill High School in 1967, she was honored with the crown of Miss Rock Hill 1968 and competed in the Miss South Carolina Pageant. Her dedication to work was evident in her 19 years with Monsanto Company and her years with Prudential Carolinas Realty as Relocation Director, from which she retired in 2011. Shortly after her retirement Linda was diagnosed with Ataxia which prematurely lead to her passing.
Through the years she maintained a close and loving relationship with her family members (Tricia & Todd Combs, Jeff & Crissy Hughes, Uncle Harold, Aunt Pauline, Terry Reece & David Blair, Vickie & David Jones, Mark Ferguson, Sheila & Keith Small, Marty & Pam Melton, James Buchanan, and the late Aunt Addie.)
Linda exuded a great zest for life! She loved to dance and be amongst her friends and loved ones. Her laugh was captivating and infectious, and all knew this as part of her personality. Linda and her husband, Ron, resided in Sharon South Community in Charlotte where neighbors became family (Dorothy & JB Haney, Bob & Theresa Baynard, Margaret Webber, Joyce Dandridge, and Brian & Josh Polk). The neighborhood picnic table was a special place to gather for a beverage, camaraderie, music, laughs, exchange of jokes/stories, and now embodies the cherished memories of Linda during happy times…including wedding vows.
Linda loved spending time at her family condo at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. She enjoyed seafood, beach music and was always quick to invite people to spend time with her and her husband there. She loved pets and was a member of the Charlotte Humane Society.
Special thanks go out to Dee Sage, Sherri Sampson, and Viv Thomas for spending time with Linda during her hour of need. Special thanks also go out to Suzie Rape and Carolyn & Ed Galloway for all they have done, and continue to do. Extended thanks to Mary London Szpara who posted on Facebook, and to all who responded in suit. Hospice Palliative Care and The Levine & Dickson Hospice House were overly caring and wonderful during this trying time. Memorials may be made in the means of donations to Hospice of Charlotte.
The memories of Linda will live on in the minds and hearts of all who knew her, but especially in her loving husband, Ron.
Memorial service for Linda will take place Saturday, September 9th, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC with Pastor Barry Yates presiding.

Linda Jane, Dolores Hammond and I became fast friends in our junior year. We laughed, cried, cruised grills and chased boys together. She had health issues for the past six or seven years. I was so in hopes she would improve.
She was a great confidant and a very special lady. RIP my friend..till we meet again. Love ya, girl. Donna
