I was Purchasing Director for York County Government, York, SC for 36 years and retired in June 2015. I have been retired for 10 years & have loved every minute of my retirement. We have four wonderful grands that have been the joy of our lives. One recently graduated for Carolina, two recently started at Carolina & one recently started high school at Indian Land.
Additionally, we have a house at OD & make regular trips there to enjoy beach life. We attended Gamecock football games for over 40 years but because we are older now find it enjoyable to watch all Gamecock sports on TV either at home, or at OD.
The good news for me is Janice stills likes me a lot because we have been married for 53 years & there is no indication that she plans on leaving me.
I don't talk about it much, so most people don't know that I graduated from RHHS with honors. Mrs. Williamson, my senior advisor, told me on the last day of school she was honored to see me leave.
Bill's Latest Interactions
I agree with Wayne, Danny was a really nice guy. We both were survivors of Mrs. Broome's Spanish class. After high school, I lost contact with Danny until a couple of years prior to our 50th. reunion. Danny was working as a security guard at Bi-Lo where we reconnected several times. He was still as nice and friendly as he was in high school and I really enjoyed our many conversations, which was always in English. I guess he didn't get anymore out of Mrs Broome's class than I did.

Sorry to hear about Thorn. I will always remember Thorn as being such a friendly guy who always had a smile on his face. He was such a good person.
Another thing I remember about Thorn is back in the day, he drove a teal color Mercury Cougar that was so big he could have taken the RHHS band from the high school to Friday night football games and still had room for the cheerleaders. That car was so cool.
We will miss you Thorn!
